COUSINS SUBS HELPS EMPLOYEES BUILD LEGACY

MILWAUKEE (May 1, 2018) – Cousins Subs® and its Make It Better Foundation invest in employees’ post-secondary education with $10,000 in Legacy Scholarships.

Just as Cousins built its legacy over the course of 45+ years, it’s encouraging all corporate and franchise restaurant-level employees to pursue a legacy of their own by applying to its Legacy Scholarship program, which debuts May 1 – 31, 2018. Cousins will offer four employees a $2,500 scholarship to assist in their dreams of post-secondary education at a two or four-year institution, trade school or apprenticeship.

“At Cousins Subs, each of our employees exemplify a commitment to our ‘belief in better through the continual improvement in everything we do,’” said Christine Specht, president of Cousins Subs Make It Better Foundation board. “And now, we want to acknowledge this commitment to our Belief in Better as well as recognize those who are living our company values—grounded, optimistic, purposeful, and passionate—in their everyday work.”

Following the program’s submission deadline, the company’s Make It Better Foundation Board of Directors will select the first-ever group of scholarship winners.

“We at Cousins believe in the power of personal growth and invest in the development of our employees from the moment they become part of our family,” said Specht. “Our goal is to not only offer a career for those who are part of our family, but to foster opportunity by providing a solid foundation for success.”

The scholarships are funded through the sub shop’s Make It Better Foundation—a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to funding causes that address health and wellness, hunger and youth education in the communities that Cousins Subs serves. Year-to-date, the foundation has awarded $80,000 to students throughout Wisconsin for continuing education and $314,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations.
